What is a tree survey?
Many jurisdictions require a tree survey for development purposes, usually defined in by Ordinance or Unified Development Code (UDC). Usually an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist is required to identify the tree species, measure the diameter, and make sure it is healthy. Locating the trees is done with a state-of-the-art GPS with Real Time Kinematic (RTK) processing. This is similar to the equipment to what surveyors use, though a significant quantity of tree surveys are actually done by folks who are not registered surveyors. Acer tags the trees with a laser etched number that corresponds to a tree inventory list- this helps with drafting up plans. Acer will even add all of this to the provided survey in CAD.
Does Acer do residential consulting or work?
It is rare that we take on this type of consulting, and we do not operate tree crews.
